Welcome

On behalf of the Board and all of our volunteers, I’d like to welcome you to PNA Central, the hub for all of Positive Network Alliance’s many activities and projects.  Thank you for taking the time to visit us to learn more about the people we serve and services we provide.

My own personal connection with PNA goes back to their very first events.  When I was six-years-old, my Dad talked to my brother and me about homeless families living in our area.  After several lengthy discussions, we decided to commit ourselves to addressing the issues that caused these conditions; poverty, hunger, healthcare, educational inequity, and discrimination.

Even though I was just a child, I was given a position of importance in our efforts.  I was responsible for the final distribution of all of the toys and organizing the way toys were displayed in our Toyland.  I was amazed that the adults listened to me and followed my directions.  After all, I was just a little kid and they were grownups. They were smart.  They knew that as a child, I would know more about the toys and the likes and dislikes of the children we serve than they would.  They knew there was a generation gap and appreciated the guidance I was able to provide to fill it.

Today, thirty-four years later, I continue to help coordinate our toy warehouse and love it every bit as much as I did when I was a child.  Now, however, my role has evolved.  Although I still provide the experience necessary for us to efficiently inventory and distribute the toys, we now rely on other small children to review toys and advise us about the items they like.

I am honored to continue my involvement with Positive Network Alliance which, besides helping others, provides me with exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth.  2020 has brought us an abundance of challenges and my commitment is to help assemble a team that can, by successfully addressing these issues, have a positive impact on our community.  I invite you to join us, become part of our extended PNA family, and help us bring the magic of Christmas to over 15,000 children annually.  I can be reached at positivenetworkalliance@gmail.com

Oh I believe in Santa Claus and I believe in you.”
